# Pro Account for HKU Students

Claim 3 months of Memo Pro free on any Memo account through Settings → Claim.

HKU students can claim the trial on their existing Memo account, including an account created with Google or a personal email address. You only need to verify your HKU email when claiming. Your Memo sign-in email stays the same, and you can keep using your existing notebooks.

## How to claim your 3-month trial

1.  Open [Memo](https://www.memo.cards/dashboard) in your browser and sign in to the account where you want to use Pro. If you are new to Memo, create an account using your preferred sign-in method.

2.  Go to **Settings → Claim** and select **HKU students**. You can also [open Claim directly](https://www.memo.cards/settings/claim).

3.  Enter your **@connect.hku.hk** student email address and select **Send security code**.

4.  Check your HKU inbox, enter the six-digit security code, and select **Verify and claim 3 months**.

5.  Once your claim succeeds, the page shows when your free Pro access ends.

If your HKU email is already verified and the page shows **Claim 3 months free**, select that button to activate the trial.

## Who can claim?

- You can use any Memo sign-in method or email address. You do not need to create a separate Memo account with your HKU email.

- You must have access to an **@connect.hku.hk** student inbox to verify your eligibility.

- The offer is available once per **Memo account** and once per **HKU email**, including previous claims. The same HKU email cannot be used to claim the offer on another account.

- You must have **no current subscription** to activate this trial. It cannot be added on top of an existing subscription.

## Payment and expiry

No payment details are required. Your free Pro access lasts for **3 months** from activation and ends automatically. Claiming this offer does not start an automatically renewing paid subscription.

Check **Settings → Claim → HKU students** for your trial end date and **Settings → Subscription** for your current plan.

## What you can use Memo for

- Add sources to your notebooks and generate flashcards, notes, practice tests, mind maps, tracks, podcasts, tutor sessions, and infographics in Studio.

- Review flashcards with Learn Mode and Cram.

- Use Memo Agent to ask questions about selected notebook sources.

Memo uses an energy-based usage model for supported AI actions. Open **Settings → Usage** to see your current balance, reset timing, and action/model costs.

## Troubleshooting

- **I signed up with Google or a personal email.** Stay signed in to that account and claim through **Settings → Claim → HKU students**. Your HKU email is used to verify the offer; it does not replace your sign-in email.

- **The security code has not arrived.** Check that the HKU address is correct and look in your spam or junk folder. Wait at least 60 seconds before selecting **Resend code**.

- **My code expired.** Codes expire after 10 minutes. Request a new code and use the latest one.

- **My HKU email or Memo account has already claimed the offer.** Previous claims count toward the one-time limit, even after the trial ends.

- **Memo says I already have a subscription.** The trial can only be activated when you have no current subscription, provided you have not claimed it before.

- **I still need help.** Contact support with your Memo sign-in email, the HKU email you tried to verify, and a screenshot of the error. Do not share your password or security code.
