Write about Indica

Indica, also spelt as Indika, was written by Megasthenes, the Greek ambassador to Pataliputra. He lived at the Mauryan capital for about five years.

From his book we get a lot of information about:

(i) organisation of the Mauryan army

(ii) the administration of Pataliputra

(iii) growth in the economy, especially agriculture

(iv) the customs and religion of the people
